A Christmas Miracle

On Christmas morning, after the presents had been opened, admired, and the majority of the debris cleaned up, the Hubs went out to check the pigs.  Pretty soon he was back with a wet, dirty, Christmas Miracle for us.  He had the saddest looking, but loudest purring yellow kitten in his arms and we all thought is was our missing Jason!
Here is is post-bath.........which he purred through!  He was extremely thin and seemed smaller than we remembered, but it was hard to tell much with the condition he was in.  So DD sat with him and gently rubbed him dry.  Sometime during this process, she realized that he didn't have any front claws (our Jason still had all his claws when he disappeared).  So, we started looking closely, comparing photos with the cat we now had, and it looked like Jason, but he didn't have the same little crook at the end of his tail anymore.  So DD immediately jumps to the assumption that whoever had him de-clawed had the crook in his tail fixed too!  (Yes, she did make us put out cookies and milk for Santa and carrots for the reindeer!)  He acts like Jason, meows like Jason, and is an extremely loving cat.

He spends a lot of time sleeping like Jason did as well.  So, since we really (logically) don't think it is the same cat, we're calling him Jason 2.0.
I told DD to get out a calculus book and see if he still liked doing calculus homework and she said "No way" and just declared that he was her Jason.

We did notify the shelter and list it on the radio pet patrol, but there have been no calls.  I'll just be glad when Jason 2.0 gets a little meat back on his bones.  His ribs don't stick out quite so bad after a week, but his hip bones do.  And since he doesn't have front claws, he appears to be living in the house.  So, I should say this is a Christmas Miracle for everyone but Cici.  She's not too thrilled to lose her "only" cat status.

She did thoroughly enjoy playing in the empty boxes on Christmas morning (pre-miracle, Jason 2.0).  So, we kept her box and moved it to the basement so she can still play with it.

And, she continues to rule the sewing room.

We enjoyed Christmas with family and friends.  Not all of the cousins were together on my side, but the ones who were enjoyed new pj's from Grandma.
These 3 were recreating a photo from about 4 years ago, only the sizes were more like this...

These to boys want to be taller than Grandpa............

Carter is getting there.

We spent Christmas Eve with our neighbors after we had attended church.  The "kids" wanted a photo, so lined themselves up like cell phone bars.

Christmas morning selfie!

Magic and Kenzie each got a new squeeky toy.

I have also been working to get borders on my leader and ender rail fence quilt.  It's not a true rail fence since I put it together like a basket weave and added jelly roll race borders.  I'm calling it Scrap Basket Christmas since all of the fabric came from those tubs of strips and squares I had already cut from scraps.
I like the way it turned out.  Now I have to piece together some Christmas fabrics I want to use up for the backing.
