Purple Peeps and More!

So Sorry!  I planned to post this last night but got wrapped up in listening to my nephew's last basketball game and watching figure skating and didn't get it done.

February's color for the rainbow scrap challenge is PURPLE.  I didn't really have any purple, but friends Gina and Mary brought me some.  Mary's granddaughter, Melanie, helped pick the purple scraps they brought, so I have some interesting chickens to sew.  Here are the first 2 joining the flock from Gina's and my fabrics.

Gina said that fabric in the lower right block was just screaming "Chicken" to her.  She was right!  I have four more cut and ready to sew.  My little flock is growing!!

I finished putting this top together and will pass it on to be quilted this weekend.  I bought these old friendship blocks at an auction.  They date back to the 1930's.  It made about a twin-size quilt.  I was able to make a frankenbatt for it and use up some of my batting pieces.  The Hubs asked what I was going to do with it, and I have no idea.  I just love it though.  I have been working to get some of the stains out of the old blocks.  After it is quilted, I will wash it again to try to get the rest of the stains out.

I am looking forward to guild meeting next week.  We are having a guest presenter that I can't wait to see.  So far, I have 3 small projects completed for show and tell.  If I can get the binding on the quilt I'm picking up tomorrow, I'll have 1 larger project to show.

Here are my small projects............

Pineapple wall hanging - pineapple top done with freezer paper piecing!

Pumpkin table runner - just love this one!

Pumpkin wall hanging - a bit more modern looking than I usually do, but I love it!

So I have just realized how many times I used the word "LOVE" in this post.........must be a Valentine's thing!

Speaking of love, someone is feeling very un-loved today.

This guy bit me pretty hard yesterday (I know he thought he was just playing, but it hurt.)  He had to spend the whole morning in timeout in his room in the basement.  Then he spent the afternoon sleeping - he was just so exhausted from all that time forced alone time!  We are really hoping that he outgrows this stage soon and/or that DD finds off campus housing for next year that allows pets.  Maybe he'll learn something if he goes to college!
