Guild Show and Tell!

After not having any meetings or gatherings in April and May, there was lots to show and tell at our June meeting.  Everyone tried to be careful about social distancing.  We even moved into the newly renovated church sanctuary to have show and tell so that we could spread out.

Here goes.............

Kris showed her Kevin the Quilter mystery quilt which she added several borders to.  Beautiful!

She also shared a wonderful redwork snowman embroidered quilt.

And this is her Smith Mountain Morning quilt from the Bonnie Hunter retreat several years ago.  She made hers a huge quilt!

Gina shared a doll quilt and a rainbow scrap string quilt.

And a quilt made from scrappy 4-patches............love it!  I can't remember the name of the one below, it was a favorite of mine as well.

And here are some fall colored nine patch blocks from a guild exchange that she set together with snowballs.

And a Bonnie Hunter quilt (I can't remember the name) and below is her president's mystery quilt which is made with flannels.  I think she's going to add a pieced border.

Beth showed a quilt made for a grandson............
And another top for another grandson...........

Pam showed her version of what will be the guild's raffle quilt (which has been held over to 2021)

And another beautiful quilt of Pam's.......
Then my turn.........
President's Mystery Quilt (above), all finished and another pieced (below)......

Bonnie Hunter's Unity quilt from the quarantine quilt-along...........top is finally done!

Summertime Sampler Block of the Month all completed and some scraps turned into a wall hanging below

Delilah the goat will be gifted to a high school graduate this weekend!

And Bjorn Bear was gifted to our pastor who is leaving.  It may seem like a strange quilt to gift to a pastor, but she is very excited about her first grandchild who is expected in December (bring on the Covid  Quarantine Babies!), so a Grandma quilt seemed appropriate!

All Roads Lead Home at Christmas...........

Rainbow Chicken Scrap!!!!!

Karen's pinwheel table runner for 4th of July!

Marsha's 4-patch scrap quilt and a quilt she made for Harper.

Marsha's cute table runner and mug rug

And a sweet Christmas Tree and her little snowflake wall hanging from Red Button Quilts.

A Quilt of Valor that will be presented later this fall..........

 Carol's table runner.........

Her Twiga wall hanging from her Africa trip.........

A memory quilt from her husband's shirts.............

Placemats Angela made for her sister..........

Mary's start on the Bonnie Hunter Unity quilt and a table runner..........

Her Laundry Basket Quilts quarantine mystery quilt and a wonderful scrap quilt.......

A wall hanging made from leftover half square triangles........ and she was trying to use up the fabric on the back!

Her oldest UFO that was started when her son was in college and a "Crabby" birthday quilt for her granddaughter.

As you can see...........quarantine was a productive time for quilters!

Cats, Kittens, and Quilts

Hi............from way back in May!  It's hard to believe how long it's been since I've blogged.  I keep thinking I will do it and then LIFE gets in the way.  So here we go.....

I finished another embroidered barn block for the Appalachian Memories quilt.  That makes 5...........only 7 (sigh) to go.  Of course, I have to get another block drawn before I can begin stitching again.

And, my Village quilt top is together.  I added the trees to the pattern.  I mainly used leftover charm squares from partial charm packs.  There is a little bit of everything in this fabric.  The lollipop and triangle trees make me think of kindergarten art projects...........all you need to add is a stick figure family!  I'm still contemplating some sort of pieced border for this.

And, every good farm girl needs buckets!  I bought a pattern and have started making fabric buckets.  These feature the the leftover rooster fabric from the back of my chicken scrap quilt and some orange grunge fabric from the sale table.  I am loving these and have plans to make more.  I'm using these in the sewing room.

And now for the "Cats" part of this post................

Cici has never met a basket she didn't try to get into.  We're pretty amazed with her agility and skill in getting into the potato basket.

And, of course, a basket with fabric in it is even better!

And now for the kittens............can you find them?
They officially have permanent names now.  All are boys.  In the above photo are Charlie and Boots and below is Wicket.
These are the cutest sweetest kittens ever!  They love to play and are really fun.  Cici and Dory even like to play with them when they come in the house as long as they are only in one at a time.  One is purrrrrfect.  Three are overwhelming!

I promise another post tomorrow with the show and tell from our quilt guild meeting last week.
